About the Catana Ocean Class
The Catana Ocean Class is a cruising catamaran family with a bright, connected main deck and performance-minded daggerboard design. The current Ocean Class², or OC², is the refreshed edition, adding thoughtful living-area changes while keeping the main-level galley, raised saloon watch berth and dedicated chart desk. Foam-sandwich construction, targeted carbon reinforcement and lightweight composite furniture help manage weight without making this an all-carbon yacht.
Four manufacturer cabin plans let buyers balance privacy, storage and sleeping capacity: three cabins with two or three bathrooms, or four cabins with two or four bathrooms. In the three-cabin owner arrangement, one hull combines a double berth aft, generous dressing and storage space, a separate WC and a forward bathroom. The starboard-forward guest cabin remains available, while four-cabin plans suit families or crews needing another proper sleeping room.
A single raised, sheltered helm gathers steering and key boat-handling controls into one practical working position. Electric-assisted daggerboards can be operated there, making board adjustment more convenient as water depth and sailing conditions change. Sliding glass side panels open the enclosed living area toward the aft lounge, so everyday life can flow between inside and out, while twin diesel saildrives handle manoeuvring and auxiliary propulsion.
The clearest generation choice is between an earlier Ocean Class interior and the refreshed OC² living space. OC² brings more galley workspace with a central island, an extended L-shaped settee, a removable pivoting pouf and a convertible table that shifts between dining, low-table and daybed roles. For CatamaranWorld readers, the practical question is which interior better suits daily routines, because these changes materially affect cooking, lounging and hosting aboard.
