About the Catana 47

The Catana 47 belongs to Catana’s earlier numbered range, distinct from the older 471 and 47 Ocean Class. Christophe Barreau’s design pairs a broad cruising platform with straight lifting daggerboards, which can be raised to reduce draft for shallower anchorages and lowered to improve lateral resistance under sail. Its Carbon Infusion construction uses carbon selectively for reinforcement, not throughout the entire yacht.

Accommodation shapes how the Catana 47 works for owners and guests. The three-cabin owner version accommodates six people and gives the owner a more private hull, while the four-cabin alternative provides additional separation for couples or family members. Above, the panoramic saloon creates a bright shared living area, and the aft galley opens directly toward the cockpit for easy serving and conversation.

Twin open steering consoles sit aft, placing a helm on each side and preserving a clear central route through the cockpit. Sail controls are grouped centrally, so a short-handed crew can organize trimming without sending people across the deck. Electric winches and exact control packages can differ between delivered boats, rather than defining every Catana 47.

With the boards raised, owners can approach anchorages that would be less accessible at full sailing draft; once offshore, lowering them supports more efficient windward work. The saloon outlook, cockpit-facing galley and dual aft helms suit crews who alternate between passagemaking and outdoor living. Choose the three-cabin Catana 47 for a dedicated owner’s hull, or the four-cabin version when separate accommodation for more guests takes priority.
