About the Aquila 50 Sail

The Aquila 50 Sail is the current large cruising sail catamaran in Aquila’s range, and it should not be confused with the power-driven 50 Yacht. Its design combines a full flybridge with forward, saloon and aft social areas, positioning it for buyers who want extensive shared space without giving up private cabin access. Current model material presents it as an active offering.

Accommodation is offered in four-, five- or six-cabin arrangements, and every cabin has its own companionway and ensuite head with a walk-in shower. The owner-focused plan pairs the owner’s cabin with guest cabins and a utility room, while the highest-count plan turns that work space into another cabin. A shipyard package can later convert the six-cabin arrangement back to five with a full owner’s suite; this is not a do-it-yourself reconfiguration.

At the flybridge, a central helm sits within the social seating rather than isolating the person steering. Stairs lead directly toward the bow on both sides, while the forward cockpit, sliding galley bar and extendable aft dining area divide outdoor space into useful zones. The standard rig uses a pin-top mainsail and furling genoa on tracks; a square-top main is optional, and diesel saildrives are standard.

For a buying decision, the 50 Sail offers a broader accommodation range than the current 45 Sail, so it suits shoppers prioritising more separate cabins or the utility-room owner layout. Use CatamaranWorld model guides alongside actual listings to confirm the installed cabin plan, sail package, hardtop and engine choice. A listing photograph may show optional equipment, and the later owner-suite conversion requires the yard package rather than a simple furniture change.
