About the Aquila 42 Coupe
The Aquila 42 Coupe is a current-generation power catamaran with an enclosed, single-level saloon and cockpit connection, and it is distinct from the flybridge-oriented 42 Yacht. Its double-stepped hulls and standard carbon-fibre Hydro Glide foil place it on the sportier side of Aquila’s cruising range, while the coupe roofline keeps the helm and principal living area together.
The standard accommodation provides two double cabins, one in each hull, with two private heads and separate walk-in showers. The port cabin is designated for the owner and the starboard cabin for guests, while the saloon’s L-shaped settee and adjustable table can form an extra sleeping area. For day use, under-seat storage, galley lockers and cockpit compartments give cruising gear several practical homes.
At the interior helm, two seats face flush-mounted electronics, with a joystick and throttles positioned close at hand; a forward-facing lounger sits alongside. A sliding aft glass door joins saloon and cockpit, a powered centre hatch leads to bow seating, and the opening roof is optional rather than standard. Buyers choose standard twin Mercury outboards or optional Volvo Penta diesel sterndrives, with installation-specific length and draft.
For a buying decision, CatamaranWorld shoppers should compare the 42 Coupe with the 42 Yacht before shortlisting individual listings: the Coupe prioritises one-level, enclosed operation, whereas the Yacht adds a flybridge and broader cabin-plan choices. Then match each advertised boat’s engine installation, roof, decking, refrigeration and barbecue equipment against the model guide, because photographs can show different propulsion variants and optional items can materially change use and maintenance.
