About the Aquila 36 Sport
The Aquila 36 Sport is a current model in Aquila’s open-deck Sport power-catamaran line, positioned as a social day boat that can also support short overnight trips. Its defining layout combines two hulls and outboard propulsion with a hardtop-covered central entertaining area, separate bow seating and sleeping spaces below. CatamaranWorld treats it as a distinct model rather than a larger version of the 32 Sport.
Below deck, two private cabins each have their own shower and toilet, making the arrangement more workable for couples sharing the boat than a single-cabin weekender. Lockable companionway hatches give each cabin independent access from the deck. For daytime use, the galley, folding table, cool storage and convertible aft seating let owners shift between meals, lounging and waterside boarding without dedicating the main deck to fixed furniture.
At the starboard helm, a bolstered bench faces electronic throttles, VesselView, adjustable steering and joystick piloting. Standard power comes from twin Mercury Verado outboards; higher-output engines and the Hydro Glide foil system are options, not baseline equipment. The opening windscreen route to the bow, side boarding gates, convertible sunbeds and aft swim platform all matter when assessing circulation for family use, swimming or diving.
A useful buying comparison starts with the Aquila 32 Sport, whose single double cabin and one head suit a different overnight brief; the 36 Sport offers separated ensuite accommodation. When screening actual listings, match engine badges, enclosure, fishing or diving package and foil installation to the model guide, then verify service history and included inventory. A lower asking price may simply reflect fewer options or older equipment, not an equivalent specification.
