About the Windelo 62
The Windelo 62 is an announced Barreau and Neuman design, developed by the French yard at Canet-en-Roussillon with input from Stellantis Design Studio. It belongs to the newer large-model generation alongside the Windelo 58, but published imagery is manufacturer rendering rather than photography of a delivered boat. Adventure and Yachting denote equipment and finish versions; Sport models are separately numbered.
Proposed accommodation plans pair an island galley or a J-shaped galley with layouts tailored to each order. The five-cabin main accommodation is tied to the J-galley plan, while other configurations can dedicate space to an owner’s dressing area, laundry or added stowage; a skipper cabin may also be included. Buyers should read these as configuration choices, not features confirmed on a completed Windelo 62.
The protected forward cockpit places two steering wheels together behind a curved windscreen, complemented by a forward lounge and fixed aft terrace rather than aft helms or a flybridge. Basalt-fibre sandwich construction, electric-hybrid shaft propulsion and a diesel generator define the technical concept, with solar and hydrogeneration contributing energy. Sail inventory, deck hardware and energy equipment should be confirmed in the contract, because public material does not establish every item as standard.
Against the Windelo 58, the 62 keeps the same beam but adds length and weight, so its extra space must be weighed against system capacity, load management and operating complexity rather than assumed performance. CatamaranWorld model guides can clarify these design differences, while an actual listing and its inventory should establish what a particular boat includes. For this announced model, insist that listing language distinguishes proposed plans, selected options and delivered equipment.
