Power catamarans on the Fort Lauderdale agenda
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show returns October 28–November 1, 2026. Leopard has announced its three-model powercat range for the event, and Lagoon lists the SIXTY 7. Together, those displays give power catamaran buyers several very different boats to put on an appointment list.
Start with the models that fit your likely cruising routine. Someone planning a few nights away with family will ask different questions from an owner arranging extended voyages with crew. Treat the larger boats as a useful point of comparison, without letting an impressive saloon replace the practical brief you arrived with.
Leopard’s lineup comes with an important detail
Leopard lists the 40 PC, 46 PC and 53 PC for FLIBS 2026. Its announcement specifies that the 40 PC will be displayed as the Moorings 403PC. That distinction is worth recording when you book a visit: ask the team to explain the displayed boat’s layout and equipment relative to the private-ownership version you are considering.
Leopard recommends reserving an appointment in advance. Use that time to compare the spaces that are harder to judge online: engine access, storage near the boarding point, helm visibility and the distance between the helm and the crew handling dock lines. Take the same photographs aboard each model so the comparison remains useful once you are home.
Lagoon lists the SIXTY 7
Lagoon’s official event page names the SIXTY 7 for the Fort Lauderdale show. Buyers interested in this part of the market should arrange a viewing around their intended ownership setup and ask to see the relevant accommodation arrangement.
If crew will be part of the plan, give their working spaces the same attention as the guest cabins. Ask how provisioning, laundry, maintenance access and tender operations work with people aboard. The question is whether the layout supports the service and privacy you want throughout a normal week, not just during a quiet tour.
Ask for comparable running-cost information
A fuel-burn figure is much more useful when it comes with speed, loading and test conditions. Ask each team for the underlying performance information, then compare the boats at the speeds you expect to use. Avoid treating a maximum-range claim and a fast-cruise figure as interchangeable.
Before leaving, collect an equipment list, a configuration-specific quote and a clear next step for a sea trial or further inspection. Check the organizer’s current map and each builder’s appointment arrangements shortly before the event. Displays can change, and a well-planned visit beats trying to fit every dock into one afternoon.
