Scout Boats

Scout Boats is a boatbuilder based in Summerville, SC. Their manufacturing headquarters is in Summerville, and their boats are distributed through a network of domestic and international marine dealers. The company builds dual console and center console boats, and customer reviews also mention sportfish and bay boat models.

The product line covers several uses. According to the company's own description, it includes sport models, offshore sportfishing platforms, and coastal cruisers. The builder describes its approach as centered on build quality and composite construction, with hull designs intended to improve fuel efficiency and rough-water handling.

Scout Boats also describes work on onboard systems. Their center consoles include models equipped with lithium-ion power, and the company points to digital switching and integrated equipment as part of its electrical systems. Other listed features include custom-engineered seating, marine-grade upholstery, and integrated hardtops. The company also refers to fiberglass and gelcoat repair standards and to upholstery and canvas craftsmanship.

On Google, Scout Boats holds a rating of 4 based on 48 reviews. Reviewers consistently praise the attractive designs, the build quality, and the ride handling of the boats. These comments apply across the center console, sportfish, and bay boat models.

Customer relations come up often in the reviews. Several owners describe positive experiences with the company's support after the warranty period ended. They note that staff often step in to resolve problems or help coordinate repairs. For owners who need technical assistance on an older boat, this is one of the more frequently cited strengths.

The reviews also include some criticism. A few owners report occasional delays in communication with the company. Others say they had difficulty ordering replacement parts. Reports of minor wear are limited but specific, including peeling dash panels and hairline cracks in the gelcoat. Prospective buyers may want to weigh these comments alongside the praise for design and handling.

Taken together, the feedback shows a builder whose boats are generally well regarded for appearance and performance on the water. The company is also seen as willing to help owners once a boat is in service, although some customers have had slower responses or trouble with parts. Because Scout Boats sells through dealers, buyers will usually deal with a dealer when looking at models, but the reviews suggest the builder itself is often involved when an issue needs to be resolved.

For anyone comparing dual console and center console boats, Scout Boats offers both configurations. Reviewers describe the designs as attractive and the ride as a strong point. Owners should keep in mind the reported delays and parts concerns. As with any boat purchase, it is reasonable to ask a dealer about parts availability, warranty coverage, and the support available after the sale.

Scout Boats can be found in Summerville, SC, where their manufacturing headquarters is located. Information on specific models, features, and availability should be confirmed directly with the company or an authorized dealer.
