ICOM America

ICOM America is a communication equipment business based in Kirkland, WA. Reviewers associate the company with radios used on the water and with amateur ham devices, and the feedback centers on how well that equipment holds up in everyday use.

On Google, ICOM America holds a rating of 3.5 based on 11 reviews. That is a small number of reviews, so the rating is best read as a snapshot of individual customer experiences rather than a broad measure. The comments do share some clear themes, and they show a range of opinions.

The most common theme is durability. Reviewers describe the company as a manufacturer of communication equipment that stands the test of time. Customers mention using handheld marine radios and setting up amateur ham devices, and in both cases the products are widely celebrated for doing the job reliably. For boaters who depend on a radio for communication, and for hobbyists who want gear that keeps working, this reputation for dependable performance is the main point in the company's favor.

Reviewers also describe the equipment as high-performing. The praise is not limited to the products. Several customers speak well of the company and its staff, which suggests that many people who contacted or dealt with the business came away satisfied.

The reviews also show that experiences are not uniform. Some customers report difficulty getting updates on repairs. Others say they had trouble obtaining replacement parts for legacy models. These comments point to a possible challenge for owners of older equipment, who may find support harder to come by than buyers of current products. Anyone with an older ICOM radio may want to ask about repair timelines and part availability before relying on a specific outcome, and to request an estimate where one applies.

Taken together, the feedback gives a balanced picture. The strengths reviewers name most often are long-lasting equipment, reliable day-to-day performance, and helpful people. The main criticism concerns communication about repairs and access to parts for legacy models. The 3.5 rating fits that mix of strong praise for the products and frustration over support for older units.

For boaters, ham radio enthusiasts and others who need dependable communication gear, ICOM America is a recognizable name in the Kirkland, WA area. Handheld marine radios are the product type reviewers mention most directly in a marine context, and amateur ham devices are the other category they discuss. Buyers weighing the company can use the review themes as a guide. The equipment earns steady praise for reliability and longevity, while owners of legacy models may need to be patient and persistent when seeking repair updates or replacement parts.

As with any business, the small review count means each additional opinion could shift the overall picture. Prospective customers are encouraged to read the individual Google reviews, consider how recent the experiences are, and weigh their own needs, particularly whether they are buying current equipment or maintaining an older model.
