Everett Nautical Designs

Specializing in hand-painted boat transom lettering and faux teak painting, Everett Nautical Designs has established itself as a premier innovator in marine signage and custom boat graphics. Founded by Joshua Everett, an accomplished illustrator and artist with over a decade of boatbuilding and design experience, the company combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology to create one-of-a-kind marine artwork. Based in Nags Head, North Carolina, on the historic Outer Banks, Everett Nautical serves boat owners and yacht enthusiasts throughout the United States, traveling to client locations to deliver world-class boat wrapping, lettering, and graphics services.

The company's transom painting work represents a continuation of maritime heritage, using traditional pinstripe brushed outlines, airbrushed graphics, and hand-laid gold leaf to transform boat transoms into moving masterpieces. Each transom lettering project is custom designed from beginning to end, with no two name designs ever being the same. The team employs multiple gilding techniques including engine turned, prismatic, outlining, and accent work to achieve the radiant, reflective luster that gold leaf brings to marine applications. Digital technology is used in-house to cut all stencils, ensuring precision while maintaining the authentic character of hand-painted boat lettering and graphics.

Faux teak painting has become a signature service for Everett Nautical Designs, offering boat owners an elegant and sustainable alternative to traditional varnished teak. Each wood plank is meticulously painted by hand, with the team specializing in authentic colors and refined wood grain patterns that outperform real wood in terms of durability and maintenance. The company can adapt to special requests such as highly figured grain patterns and custom color matching, making their synthetic decking and flooring solutions truly bespoke. This environmentally conscious approach delivers low-maintenance luxury that maintains its beauty through years of marine exposure.

The Everett Nautical team brings formal training and careful mentorship in marine signage and boatbuilding traditions to every project. Their process begins with understanding each owner's vision, taking inspiration and personality into careful consideration before the design phase commences. Whether creating custom graphics for sportfishing yachts, applying boat wrapping and lettering to commercial vessels, or executing intricate faux teak installations on luxury yacht decks, the company maintains an unwavering commitment to using only the finest quality materials and most advanced techniques available in the industry.

Fully insured and mobile, Everett Nautical Designs travels to client locations throughout the coastal United States, offering outstanding turnaround times without compromising on quality. Their boat detailing and cleaning expertise, combined with specialized skills in fiberglass and gelcoat repair preparation, ensures that every surface is properly prepared for flawless paint application. The company's dedication to ongoing research and development in technique and process innovation keeps them at the forefront of marine graphics and custom boat lettering services. From the Outer Banks of North Carolina to marinas across the country, Everett Nautical Designs continues to set the standard for hand-painted marine artistry and custom yacht graphics.
