Electronics Unlimited

Marine electronics have become increasingly complex aboard South Florida's diverse fleet, from compact fishing boats to blue-water cruising yachts. Electronics Unlimited has operated from its Fort Lauderdale facility on South Andrews Avenue for more than twenty years, specializing in the installation, repair, and integration of navigation, communication, and entertainment systems for vessels throughout Broward County and neighboring communities including Pompano Beach and Dania Beach.

The company maintains authorized dealer and service partnerships with major marine electronics manufacturers including Furuno, Raymarine, Simrad, KVH, Icom, and B&G. This breadth of brand relationships allows their technicians to work across different equipment ecosystems rather than being confined to a single manufacturer's product line. Factory training for these systems ensures the team can handle everything from basic VHF radio troubleshooting to sophisticated radar calibration and satellite communication setup. Their approach emphasizes system integration—configuring chartplotters, autopilots, AIS transponders, and radar systems to function as cohesive units rather than standalone components that operators must manage separately.

Installation projects undertaken by Electronics Unlimited span the full range of onboard electronics needs. Navigation systems form the core of much of their work, with GPS chartplotters and multifunction displays serving as central hubs for vessel information. The business also designs marine audio and entertainment installations engineered to withstand salt spray, humidity, and constant vibration—environmental factors that quickly degrade consumer-grade equipment. Satellite TV systems extend connectivity beyond the range of shore-based signals, while comprehensive vessel monitoring solutions provide real-time data on engine performance, fuel consumption, and weather conditions. These monitoring capabilities have evolved from luxury features to essential tools for both security and operational efficiency aboard modern recreational and commercial vessels.

Service and repair work represents a substantial portion of operations at the South Andrews Avenue facility. Factory-trained technicians maintain parts inventory for the equipment lines they support, addressing the diagnostic challenges that arise when electronics malfunction in saltwater environments. The team's ability to service both current-generation digital systems and legacy equipment still common throughout South Florida's aging fleet has contributed to long-term client relationships. Mariners who treat electronics as critical safety gear rather than optional accessories tend to value this ongoing support capability.

Fort Lauderdale's position as one of the nation's most concentrated boating markets creates both opportunity and competition for specialized marine service providers. Electronics Unlimited's two-decade presence in this environment reflects technical competence in an era when marine electronics have transitioned from analog instruments to networked digital systems requiring software configuration alongside traditional electrical installation skills. As connectivity demands continue growing and equipment manufacturers push toward increasingly integrated bridge systems, established service facilities with multi-brand expertise remain essential infrastructure for the region's recreational and professional maritime community.
