Captain: Kevin Baker With a lifelong passion for the ocean, Captain Kevin Baker brings decades of maritime experience, leadership, and hospitality to every charter. Growing up in Hawaii, where sailing and surfing were a way of life, he developed an early connection to the sea that eventually led him to embrace life as a liveaboard sailor. For four years, Kevin and his wife of more than 30 years made their sailboat their home, cruising extensively along the U.S. East Coast, throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and Central America—from Guatemala in the west to Grenada in the south. These years of exploration deepened both his seamanship and his appreciation for the unique experiences that life on the water offers. Kevin's professional background includes service as a boat operator in the U.S. Coast Guard, where he built a strong foundation in navigation, vessel operations, safety, and professionalism. Throughout his career, he has operated a wide variety of both sailing and power vessels in diverse cruising conditions. He also served as captain of a youth sailing program, leading multi-day adventures while inspiring confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of sailing in the next generation. As a charter captain, Kevin is dedicated to creating safe, personalized, and unforgettable experiences for every guest. Whether introducing newcomers to sailing, exploring secluded anchorages, or simply enjoying a peaceful afternoon under sail, his calm demeanor, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality help guests feel welcome, comfortable, and completely at ease from the moment they step aboard. Chef/First Mate: Jennifer Baker Chef Jennifer Baker Raised in California and shaped by 13 years living in Hawaii, Chef Jennifer Baker developed a lifelong connection to the ocean, an appreciation for diverse cultures, and a natural passion for hospitality. Her love of cooking has always centered on creating fresh, thoughtful meals that bring people together, whether ashore or at sea. For the past four years, Jennifer has embraced the liveaboard lifestyle, cruising extensively aboard a sailboat with her husband of more than 30 years. This experience has strengthened her creativity, adaptability, and resourcefulness in the galley, allowing her to prepare high-quality meals while living and working on the water. Jennifer further refined her culinary skills through a culinary boot camp with the Culinary Institute of America, building a strong foundation in professional techniques while developing a style focused on fresh ingredients, flavorful cuisine, and welcoming hospitality. Her experience as first mate aboard a chartered youth sailing program reflects her hands-on approach to life at sea. From teaching young sailors the rhythms of living aboard to supporting daily vessel operations and safety, she is known for her calm presence, positive attitude, and ability to make others feel comfortable and confident. Blending her coastal roots, culinary training, and years of sailing experience, Jennifer is dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences that elevate every charter. Her thoughtfully prepared meals, warm hospitality, and genuine care for her guests ensure that every voyage is as enjoyable around the table as it is under sail.
