That spirit eventually led him to the US Virgin Islands, where he initially worked in the national park before discovering a passion for sailing. He has since earned his Yachtmaster Offshore certification and worked as a sailing instructor, bringing capable seamanship and valuable island experience aboard KORU. Chef/Mate: Mila Bertassoni Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Mila’s connection to the sea and her family’s love of cooking shaped her culinary path from an early age. Her international travels and training- including studies at Le Cordon Bleu Sydney and a vegan culinary school in Rio- have inspired a vibrant cooking style influenced by flavors from around the world. Aboard KORU, she creates thoughtful, personalized menus designed around each guest’s tastes and the natural rhythm of the charter.
